Newtec Packaging acquires FL Systems, which becomes Newtec Alvey
The Newtec Group has been operating in the field of machines for automating end-of-line packaging, continuous handling and storage for over 30 years.
Newtec Packaging, the French group’s holding company, has just acquired the Belgian company FL Systems, which has been renamed newtec alvey nv.
FL Systems, which had been part of the Fabricom – Suez Group, was bought out in 2004 by Robert Levison, Piet Debaene and Maarten van Leeuwen.
Robert Levison and Piet Debaenne are leaving the company for a well-earned retirement, while Maarten van Leeuwen becomes the Executive Director of the company, which becomes the fifth subsidiary of the Newtec Group.
Newtec thus adds to its offer in two ways:
-additional range: in the field of continuous handling and order preparation; and in the field of very high-speed palletizing with the ALVEY palletizer.
-additional markets in terms of geography and customer segmentation.
Newtec offers a multi-sector clientele a integrated range of engineering solutions for packing lines through four main activity centres, which are:
-bag palletizing (newtec bag palletizing :22% of consolidated sales)
-unit load palletizing: boxes, packs (newtec case palletizing and newtec alvey : 48% of consolidated sales)
-handling, sorting and storage (newtec handling systems and newtec alvey: 27% of consolidated sales)
-wine, alcohol and spirits packaging (newtec filling systems: 3% of consolidated sales – division starting up again)
Newtec Packaging’s development has enabled it to acquire solid positions in France and Europe, particularly in the field of bag packaging, for which it is one of the world’s top three companies
The Newtec Group now employs 400 people and has sales of 73 million Euros.
With this acquisition, Newtec continues its growth in Europe and worldwide to reinforce its market share in its sector.
