Hello everyone,
We have a pneumatic conveying pipeline with the following dimensions: 4 inches of diameter, 1.5m of horizontal piping and 4.5m of vertical piping, connected together with a long radius elbow, trying to convey 2 ton/hour of polymer flakes (PVC, PET, PP, PE, etc.). The air velocity at the inlet is measured to be at least 30 m/s (that's the most our flow meter can show). The polymer flakes are approximately 1.5 cm* 1.5cm with a thickness of 2 mm (at most), so a typical flake.
We have a clogging problem right after the rotary valve and at the elbow, the flakes pile up. What do you suggest that we do? Do these figures seem to meet make sense to you?
What software programs do you suggest I use to evaluate the operating conditions?
Thanks for your help
