ABRAFOL, a special non-skid industrial packaging bag
Our team developed a new kind of antislip PE bag for heavy duty packaging.
The revolutionary anti-slip feature of the new ABRAFOL packaging bag is provided by its outer surface being roughened with small protrusions. One face of the bag is laminated with a thin non-woven strip. If the bag, with its non-woven strip, is laid upon the roughened surface of another bag, the inter-locking of the protrusions and the non-woven make the system very strongly fixed against lateral slipping. This bond remains firm even under heavy vibration such as caused by transportation in a vehicle. The bags can be lifted up, many times, from each other just as there was nothing special about them, thus they can be manually re-stacked.
The non-skid behaviour of the ABRAFOL bags is absolutely different from any anti-slipping solutions known so far. It does not require any extra equipment or adhesives. It works perfectly even if the plastic surfaces covered with dust, are wet or overlaid with white frost. Therefore they are an ideal industrial packaging solution e.g. for quartz sand, cement mix, the frozen food (e.g. IQF vegetables and fruits) industry. They can even be used as a convenient form of bulk storage, in-house.
The advantages of ABRAFOL bags over the commonly used poly-lined multiwall paper bags are the following:
Extremely enhanced pallet stability, even without any stretch or shrink covering in case of a usual brick-pattern palletising. You will not believe until you see it.
Source reduction: The leaving or minimising of the stretch or shrink covering decreases the costs of purchasing, applying, removing and finally handling/ desposing of them. This also means reduction in environmental fees.
Source reduction: an ABRAFOL bag weighs 80 grams while a paper bag weighs about 160 to 230 grams. This is 60 % less volume of packing material to handle at the destination and also 60 % less weight to pay environmental fees after.
While poly-lined bags are of a composite character, ABRAFOL bags are considered to be homogeneous polyolefine plastic which, again, may result in decreased environmental fees.
ABRAFOL bags can be closed with welding: no thread residues may pollute the contents.
