DOWNERS GROVE, (IL) January 29, 2008 -- Flexco has introduced a Chevron Belt Cleaner featuring a new approach and design for cleaning chevron, cleated and raised rib belts. The Eliminator Chevron Belt Cleaner is ideally suited for wet sand belts, wood chip belts and other raised top or grooved belts.
Key to the Eliminator Chevron's long operating life and abrasion resistance is a 2-1/2 in. (63mm) ring featuring hundreds of 2 in. (50mm) fingers that dislodge carryback from the belt, allowing it to fall with no danger of abrasive wear or damage to the belt.
The self-cleaning fingers are molded from SBR rubber and securely nested to the ring, which is stretched to fit snugly onto the drum. The design provides rotary cleaning action for trouble-free cleaner operation with minimal maintenance. Flexco's Chevron belt cleaner effectively cleans mechanically spliced or vulcanized belts. It is compatible with belts operating at speeds to 500 fpm. and works in temperatures ranging from ˆ30° F to 180° F (-35° C to 82° C).
The free rotating cleaner works only when the belt runs. While it effectively removes carryback, it is gentle on the belt‚s top cover, as well as chevrons and cleats.
The Eliminator Chevron's drum is designed for extended operating life ranging from one to three years depending on the application conditions and conveyed materials. Drum replacement and installation can be performed quickly, further reducing periods of downtime and maximizing productivity. Ideal locations for the Chevron Belt Cleaner are the point where the belt leaves the head pulley, under a hold-down roller or other places where the belt is as flat as possible.
The Eliminator Chevron Belt Cleaner is designed for belts from 18 in. to 60 in. (450 to 1500mm). Special sizes are available upon request.
