Wet Sand Transport

Looking for inexpensive ideas on the best way to move -10 mesh wet sand about 5' vertical. This is a small operation dealing with <2 ton per day. It needs to be picked up from a collection hopper and fed to another hopper about 5' above without the addition of too much water. Slow continuous flow is fine.

correction:

5' is 1.5 m

10 mesh = 1.9 mm

2 tons is approx 1 m3

1 day = 8 hrs

Rate = 1/8 = 0.125 m3/hr = 125 ltr/hr

1 bucket = 8 ltrs # 16 kg

125/8 = 15 buckets/hr

1 bucket every 4 minutes

A small mobile beltconveyor (like farmers use)?

It's looking like a bucket on the end of a rope; like Wimpey's do.

Oops! Nearly forgot the shovel.

Then again: if you get a tall enough operator, or long enough shovel, you can save on the bucket.

A small little Giant paddle grain conveyor will work nicely, galvanised with paddles flat conveyor chain v-belt pulley and belt drive for chain drive can be done with a gas engine or a 110 volt GFI protected electric motor.
