Complete systems for the chemical industry
The Khimia 2013 – the international trade fair for the chemical industry and science (October 28 to 31, Moscow) – will see the Beckum-based BEUMER Group showcasing its products and system solutions for the palletizing and packaging technology sectors – targeting the complex requirements of manufacturers in the chemical industry. The products offered by the family-run company range from bagging, palletizing and load-securing equipment to warehouse management systems for chemical and petrochemical products.
One example of the products which will be presented by the BEUMER Group is the paletpac high-performance layer palletizer. This stacks PE and PP bags to a packing height of 2,400 millimeters (3 ft. 11.2 in.) on any standard size pallets – and the paletpac is flexible, geometrically accurate and extremely stable. The user can quickly and easily set the required parameters via a multiprogram. Depending on the product requirements, the BEUMER paletpac can be fitted with a rotary clamp or a double belt turning device which moves the filled bags into the required position. Even bags filled with granulate can be gently palletized, remaining dimensionally stable when stacked. Bags with PE granules, which evince a special flow behavior, or bags exposed to high temperatures and humidity are particularly challenging to handle. In these cases, BEUMER uses ventilated, specially-coated laying tables. The ventilation produces a cushion of air between the bag and the delivery table. This prevents bags sticking to the supporting surface and enables them to retain their dimensional stability on the pallet.

BEUMER will also be presenting its Warehouse Management System (WMS) at the Khimia. This system fulfils all the main requirements of the chemical industry, like the storage of sensitive substances, batch tracking and space-saving, cost-efficient warehouse management. The WMS has an interface to all common ERP systems. It incorporates warehouse management, the material flow system and process control of the individual machines – so the user has a continuous overview of his production and storage facilities at all times and can match both to current requirements.
