Acquires Bulk Material Product Line from Webb of Georgia

A private investment group announces the acquisition of the bulk material handling product line from Jervis B. Webb Co. of Georgia, effective August 15, 2003. The product line was acquired by a newly formed entity securing its original 76 year old name of Materials Handling Equipment Company (MHE).

The acquisition includes the sales, engineering, and installation activities of the bulk handling product line at Webb’s Marietta, Georgia facility, including screw conveyors and feeders, bucket elevators, drag chain and flight conveyors, apron feeders and conveyors, and belt conveyors. MHE will continue to offer its specialty equipment line for custom applications. Webb has agreed to offer manufacturing capabilities for the new company.

The group is headed by Robert Decker, President of Decker Industries, Inc. in Lake Wylie, South Carolina. He will also be President and CEO of the new company. Robert J. Stehlik, formerly with Webb, has been named Vice President and will manage the operations.

Decker Industries has design, manufacturing, and installation experience in bulk material handling, silo and conveying equipment. The company specializes in the cement, limestone, gypsum, environmental, steel, coal, and chemical industries and also has extensive power plant technology expertise.
