proportional relationship between the side scraper blade width and blade pitch

I'd like to know the proportional relationship between the blade width and blade pitch.

I'm very grateful if anyone answer.

Dear sinomayz,

there is, in my experience, no simple proportional relationship. i have always to consider physical (bulk properties) and technological (speed vs. bulk vs. degradation etc.) and design (feasibility of machinery requirements) influences. After due calculation there's a minimum pitch related to the filling process, whereas the width of the scraper is related to throughput, chain design, drive power etc. Short time throughput increase might in the first place be done by speed increase, but there's limits.

However, design experience and know-how play a big role in finding optimum performance, feasibility of improvements.

Pls. check in literature / Contact a supplier or consultant.

Have a nice weekend!

R.

It is complicated.Maybe it should do some experiments to test.

Thanks any way.

Dear sinomayz,

i take it you are in the business and facing the real issue. Then, if you do what you write i would kindly invite you to share as you see fit. For a start some detail about your technical situation as chain, blade, installed power etc. Then the material and its properties etc, and in the end what you did find out when testing.

This way, we all could learn and we could verify design bases in order to improve the technique and operation to all concerned parties around.

Bonus: This would perhaps attract other players to share their input.

Regards
