Re: Small Particle Classification
You are working at the limit of air classification - assume your Alpine unit is a 50ATP or 100MZR? Suggest the only available solution is to have a small high energy bead mill where you might mill the material for as long as it takes to get down to the required distribution. Whether this could be wet or dry depends on the material and the degree of contamination you can tolerate.

Re: Small Particle Classification
For the size range you list, you can mill the powder in a Micronizer Jet Mill. ■
Re: Small Particle Classification
Rather than breaking down the existing particles I was hoping to be able to keep the existing particle shape and remove small and large particles from the system.
Any ideas?
Thanks ■
Fine Particle Classification
Dear reader,
Your application is in the range of fineness of our newest lab classifier, CFS 5 HDS. This lab classifier can be found at the following link http://www.netzsch-mahlen.de/aktuell/e-home.html, then click on dry grinding. Please feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. ■

Just wondered where the CFS 5 HDS is hiding on the Netzsch web site Steve? Will it really slice a 2 micron top size powder at say 1um? sounds fantastic!
Merry Christmas!

Small particle classification
I am interested in classifying small particle powders in the 1 µm - 2 µm size range to improve the size distribution. Does anyone know of any techniques that work in this size range?
I currently have an Alpine air classifier but am at its limit of operation.
Typically need upwards of 100 g of product so need a reasonable throughput.
Thanks for any help offered. ■
