Dear chavannilesh,

Heat exchangers are required, where the conveying gas is too hot for the conveyed material.

The design parameters for the cooler are:

-The compressor outlet temperature

-The cooled temperature

-Pressure

-Cooling medium

-Condensation.

Some application requires hot air conveying to dry and to reduce moisture.

Dear chavannilesh,

If you want to dry the conveyed material, then the conveying gas must be dried first to a dewpoint temperature at the conveying pressure well below the material temperature.

Do not expect to much from the drying effect in pneumatic conveying ,as the residence time of a particle in the pipeline is rather short.

pneumatic conveying using hot air to increase resistance time we can increase conveying length.

Dear chavannilesh,

Extending the pneumatic conveying distance, just to increase the residence time, for drying purposes is not the smartest way of drying.

A fluidized bed is a better and cheaper way.

Do not forget to calculate the temperatures, water content and Relative Humidity of the drying gas, before and after drying.
