Re: Heat Exchangers In Pneumatic Conveying System
Dear chavannilesh,
Heat exchangers are required, where the conveying gas is too hot for the conveyed material.
The design parameters for the cooler are:
-The compressor outlet temperature
-The cooled temperature
-Pressure
-Cooling medium
-Condensation. ■

Some application requires hot air conveying to dry and to reduce moisture. ■

Re: Heat Exchangers In Pneumatic Conveying System
Dear chavannilesh,
If you want to dry the conveyed material, then the conveying gas must be dried first to a dewpoint temperature at the conveying pressure well below the material temperature.
Do not expect to much from the drying effect in pneumatic conveying ,as the residence time of a particle in the pipeline is rather short. ■

pneumatic conveying using hot air to increase resistance time we can increase conveying length. ■

Re: Heat Exchangers In Pneumatic Conveying System
Dear chavannilesh,
Extending the pneumatic conveying distance, just to increase the residence time, for drying purposes is not the smartest way of drying.
A fluidized bed is a better and cheaper way.
Do not forget to calculate the temperatures, water content and Relative Humidity of the drying gas, before and after drying. ■
