Re: Sample Transfer Conveyor
What is the material size?
Maybe:
"Over head" conveyor
Pan conveyor
Pipe Conveyor
Sicon Conveyor

Re: Sample Transfer Conveyor
Dear Mr. Andrew,
If putting a conveyor is difficult.
Divert the sample cut through a chute. Use small buckets/Vessel for collecting 150 kg samples. This way you can individualise the samples also, by marking date & time.
Motorised Trolleys on track can be used for mechanised transportation.

Re: Sample Transfer Conveyor
Your throughput is 270 tph and your sampling intervals are 298 seconds apart for a journey of 120m one way or 240m return trip. Assume the discharge period is simlar to the collection period and in round figures you will have to run a single container with a capacity of 150kg at 0.81m/s. This suggests a container of 390x390x500 (for the surcharge) which isn't so big.
But 'reasonably tight' within, well within, 120m centres translates as "incredibly tight" for a conveyor.
You need a 2 speed powered trolley running under a monorail.
Keep the container up near the monorail so the swing on bends is not too alarming. Mind the container doesn't clout the live wires.■
Re: Sample Transfer Conveyor
thanks for the replys,
Material size is -40mm.
Unfortunately there is not the possibility of putting the sample directly into buckets, it must be conveyed.
The sicon conveyor looks pretty handy, are there many other conveyors like this out there? Particularly with references in Australia? ■
Sample Transfer Conveyor
Hello all,
I searching for a solution for a conveyor problem that i have.
We require a conveyor that will transfer a sample cut of iron ore from a transfer point to a sampling workshop. Unfortunately due to the layout of our process plant we cannot simply use a straight conveyor. The conveyor will have to make at least one reasonably tight horizontal curve and may also be up to 120m long.
The sample will be taken over 2 seconds and could be up to 150kg in weight. There will be a sample taken approximately every 5-10mins. So most of the time the conveyor will be empty.
Can anyone suggest conveyor designs that would be suitable to such a duty?
Thanks.
Andrew ■
