Rotoside Wagon Tippler Orientation

Posted in: , on 11. Sep. 2012 - 10:27

Hi,

I need clarification regarding the Rotoside wagon tippler orientation with respect to wagon incoming direction. The tippler has two end rings ingo end ring and outgo end ring, the construction of the both the rings are similar. The clarification is that whether the direction of the wagons are only possible to go from ingo end ring side to outgo end ring side?..... whether the ring notations are just for flow indication purpose of wagons or is there any changes in general arrangement of the wagon tippler??????

Regards

Hello Karthik Raja,

The side discharge (rotaside) tippler can be LH (left hand side) or RH (right hand side). This is named as below:

Standing on in-haul side and looking to the tippler, if unloading hopper is on left side of platform (railway track), then it is LH tippler.

Similarly, standing on in-haul side and looking to the tippler, if unloading hopper is on right side of platform (railway track), then it is RH tippler.

For particular tippler complex, the wagon entry is from one specific end, and it is not from either side.

For more specific and formal information, refer to wagon tippler manufacturers.

You need more than clarification. Assuming the tippler is in use, what is the desired modification?

Consider the implications for the drive; the allocation of sidings and direction of the pusher.

As stated by the previous reply you need to talk to the OEM who will advise at a price.
