Internal feeding and internal discharge bucket elevators are not very popular. In such elevator centrifugal force will be against the discharge, rather than helping / promoting the discharge. It seems, such elevators are very selectively used for lifting small items / objects with gentle loading and gentle discharge. They generally have low speed.
I have limited experience of this type of elevators, and people with more expertise can inform further in this matter.
Now coming to your point, the internal loading can have lesser resistance attributed to scooping of material into the bucket. The lifting power will be same irrespective of elevator type and buckets. Further more, the size of such elevator will be bigger in view of lower speed, and consequently the power consumption to keep the more mass moving can offset the advantage for lesser resistance in boot section.
Bucket wear will be less for internally fed elevator in view of lesser scooping effect.
The above information is considering internally loaded continuous buckets.

Mr Mulani referrs to feed inside, that is BETWEEN the strands of buckets. Is that what you are referring to or are you asking for the difference between feeding into the bucket elevator boot on the UPSIDE or UPLEG (where the buckets are rising) and the DOWNSIDE or DOWNLEG (where the buckets are still descending) ?
From my experience UPLEG feeding is the most common, although sometimes DOWNLEG feeding is recommended when elevating powders. It is usually possible to have a lower feed point on the DOWNLEG than on the UPLEG. ■

The 'designer' has clarified that I am referring to feed chute end located between two strands of buckets. Yes my reply / information relates to this type of arrangement, where feeding as well as discharge is between two strands of buckets.

.- I like to compare the best way for the feeding of a bucket elevator considering to feed from back or front having an idea about the difference with the power consumption and the wearing of buckets.
