hi every body

We work in hot roll mill factory. We put steel slab in the furnace and heat them. during this proccess, scale that has formed on the surface of slab pour in the bottom of furnace. in yearly maintenance we should clean the furnace and now we need a system to bring out this scales from furnace. in some places the scales are hot.

can every body help me to know what is the best system for this problem? is screw conveyor suitable for this?

thanks

A scew conveyor is about the last thing you need.

Water jetting and sluicing to a settlement pond are more like it.

Scale is extremely dense and any mechanical methods will result in more downtime than you can afford.

Of course you will have to prevent flashing: that's the name of the game!

Been there; done that with ISCOR in 1978.

Hello,

You may refer to furnace supplier about the suggested cleaning procedure and equipment, for the furnace being designed and supplied by him. Think about their suggestion.

In case only you are to decide for this, then you may communicate to relevant manufacturers of material handling equipment / items and provide them the technical information about your requirement, to get their quotation. This being a specific job oriented solution, it is more suited to aforesaid approach.
