railway sidings and coal jetty's road of the ports.

material handling system where at the transfer point crusher house,

dumper platform dust emission is heavy, so along with water spray

For pelletised cargo a continuous unloader is in with a fighting chance; otherwise a grab crane is your better option.

Digging against dried, sun baked concentrate will generate just as much dust during continuous bucket digging as will grab unloading, albeit in the hold. If you have to drop a Bobcat or two in to clean up the hold anyway; then what's the point of a fancy continuous digger?

With the wind in the right direction the magnetite dust will paint the ship red instead of the town. And why not; wasn't it just the ship that brought the muck in the first place? The seaspray will soon wash it all clean out of sight of land.

Once you start talking about unloading bulk cargo there is going to be a lot of dirt lying around. Anybody telling you they can make the surroundings remotely pleasant is lying to you. The annoyance is directly proportional to the tonnage handled which is why most iron ore comes from bleak barren tracts where a bit more crud hardly blots the 'landscape'. Fortunately most of that is unloaded in similar backdrops & if you can stay away from the environmentalists you can get away with almost anything. Some operations still manage to. ■
