Screw conveyor?!

Hi my friends,

I have a problem:

i works in a particle board plant company.we want to use a screw

conveyor with:

outer Dia: 600 mm

Screw Dia:550

Shaft Dia:50 mm

Screw pitch:450 mm / constant.

Screw length: 4500 mm

how to calculate motor power of this Screw conveyor?

Material rate:5 t/h

Material type: Baggase , density: 200 kg/m3

I suggest that you review the size of shaft proposed for the span of 600mm diameter screw indicated.

The size of the shaft diameter is a simple UDL deflection calculation. You don't want the flights to be scraping the bottom of the casing.

As a rule of thumb you shouldn't go much below 1:45 - so for 4500 mm between bearings you would be looking at a 100 DN tube.
