Ajax’s smooth finish on the collecting hopper’s surface provides ensures the flow of paper pulp to the inclined screw feeders below. The stainless steel single screwed feeders provide a compact and efficient way of delivering paper pulp up to the reversible screw conveyor.
Using a reversible screw feeder allows material to be delivered to two different outlets without using bifurcated valves and inclined chutes which would require more space and not positively move the material; usually screws are designed to run in a single direction but in a reversible screw the flights are carefully designed to be able to transfer the bulk solid in either direction.
“Space is often at a premium in plants and so Ajax is used to working with customers to find solutions that fit within the existing layout and maximise their filling of storage spaces without compromising on solids handling or processing performance,” commented Lewis Shaw, technical sales engineer, Ajax Equipment.
“From these experiences, Ajax has developed both reversible and bidirectional screw conveyors which enable production to either switch outlets as required or serve two outlets at the same time. In this case, a simple reversible screw helps make best use of valuable production space.”
