Dear Forum,

Our customer wishes to include Impact Slider Bars over an area of 6 meters in a loading zone. The material is mineral concentrate cake , discharged from a filter. Lump sizes can be up to 400mm. We have suggested that Impact Idlers be used between the 1400 mm long Impact Cradles. Is there a general % increase applied to the power in order to overcome increased friction by comparison to a conventional idler arrangement.

Thankyou In Anticipation.

On page 78 of Foundations III there are formula for estimating the additional power requirements for belt support systems. It is based on belt speed, weight of conveyed material, weight of belt, weight of material on the belt, length of belt support system, sealing strip length, and friction of the support bar material. Dear kinder

i suggest you to use impact bars, i will give good sealing to skirt rubber. slight increase in power can be well compensated as you avoid the spillage.
