Dear sir,

In the case of rail mounted BWSR there are various option is available for the design of portal/gantry structure like three corner three point, three corner four point & four corner four point. My question is what is the selection criteria for this design? Which is more beneficial for stability wise and cost wise? Which is lighter in weight design comparing with same capacity machine?

Thanking you.

As louis has breifly detailed,

the issues are many for what you are asking and it is

simply difficult to discuss in basic terms what is

required as the primary issue is what the machine

will be tasked to handle as far as the ores or aggregates

the end user is transferring from A to B and then to C during

its duty cycle.

The basic terrain and soil structure let alone seismic activity

must be examined before any decision in real terms is made

without knowing what the material to be transferred is.

The systems must be designed around the "available" or planned utilities

such as water for fire suppression and available thre phase power

if any let alone whether the entire stacking and reclaiming area is

to be built on a concrete slab with a "third rail" for the three leg three phase

power loads, continuity feeder, and twin grounds let alone any computer

controlled monitoring systems for the stacking and reclaiming operations.

You have to have the utilities and the square area to support an eight thousand ton per

hour system before you can even begin to establish decision tree for the type of system

whether it is a high voltage rail mounted or a trailing cable or diesel electric medium

voltage crawler stacker reclaimer.

The issue comes down to the stresses involved in handling the material and what is required to move the material

to and from the stacking and reclaiming area to the end point being C least of which is a reversable 72 or 84 inch belt conveyor

needed to feed or carry back the material from the stock pile back to the jetty.
