Dear futurbringer,

Generally Impact type machines are used for crushing gypsum, as it is not very hard. Hammer Mills should be quite suitable.

Generally, only problem is it's hygroscopic nature. The problems will depend on the moisture content.

The selection of primary crusher depends on factor like input feed size and throughput rate. Normally Horizontal Shaft Impactors or Jaw crushers are used as primary crushers. For secondary unit it is advisable to use Vertical shaft Impactors. You have to consider abrasiveness of the material while selecting the type of crusher.
