Dear Sir,

Can anyone explain the open area factor, oversize factor, half size factor involved in the formula for finding the size of the screen. And whether the weight factor is represented from the bulk density.

In the VSMA screen area calculation, Factor A represents the amount of feed that can be handled per square foot of deck area for various size screen apertures.

This basic capacity is an empirical value that has been established assuming that the feed gradation to the deck comprises 25% of material larger than the apertures, and 40% of the feed material less than half the aperture size. It also assumes material weighing 100 lib per cubic foot, and a screening surface with an open area equivalent to a normal duty woven wire.

The calculation factors (G) open area, (B) oversize, (C) halfsize, and the Weight Factor (F) compensate for differences in the original base assumptions (in Factor A), and the actual conditions.

Thankyou very much for giving the new updated factors for finding the size of screen.

With the help of the data i have found the size of horizontal screen i.e., two deck horizontal screen of size 1400x5000mm which i can handle 100tph.

Now with this data i will build the vibrating box model and and i will get the mas of the vibrating mody. The vibrating mass of the vibrating body is divided with dynamic moment, and the dynamic moment is the double the staic moment.

I hope the above statements and formulae are correct. Now can you help me on the formula for static moment, and how i can start with the oscillator or counter weight which will decide the static moment.

Bed Depth Calc

Dear Sir: John's info is correct.......but, you must also......do the most important thing, actually 2 very important things now.

BEFORE YOU CONFIRM THE SIZE OF THE SCREEN NEEDED.

1. You must double check the BED DEPTH CALCULATION using the VSMA formula.........to confirm the size you calculated for above is still OKAY. If bed depth is too deep......screen with carry fines over.

2. It is highly desirable if available, to have someone with experience with the actual material being screened to offer their opinion of the size VSMA picked for you. As the whole calc is by assumptive data in the first place.

Someone who knows, might say .......yeah the size is ok but, in my opinion it should be 7 feet wide or 20 feet long because.....of ABC reason. And they would be right with knowledge.

Keep Smiling....
