Crusher Calculations?

Posted in: , on 18. Jan. 2008 - 17:08

Hello everybody,

Within a few months I hope to graduate for my Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. Because of my graduation project I am looking for information about (roll) crushers.

The University has given me the assignment to design a roll crusher to break hard and large sewage sludge granules to smaller pieces. This can be achieved by using a crusher. Could you tell me if there are any articles about crushers? And maybe more important: could you also give me any calculations about (roll) crushers? Finally I am hoping to calculate the capacity, speed, forces and loads of the new crusher I have to design.

I hope you can help me completing my project with the right results.

With kind regards,

Kris Hernandes

Khd Roll Crushers Or Shredders

Posted on 7. May. 2008 - 03:56

Hello Kris,

KHD Humboldt Wedag makes roll crushers so if you visit their website you will find stuff there to help you as well as contact details for someone to speak to.

However I know that shredders can usually easily handle sewage. Please can you tell me what the hardness and strength is and then provide a size distribution of the sewage and how much you want to process in tonnes per hour. Use my email address because I will respond more quickly.

Shredders are manufactured by companies like RCR Thomlinson here in Perth Australia, Hazemag (www.hazemag.com)

FLSmidth Minerals manufactures hammer mills (shredders) and roll crushers. (http://www.flsmidthminerals.com/Products/Crushing)

If you approach any of these manufacturers for help they will ask you for the hardness, strength, tph and size distribution. The unit is sized and chosen using this information.

Looking forward to being of more help.
