i think the book

"PneumaticConveyingofBulkMaterials " is ok for a reference.

"the successful pneumatic conveying"

HandbookofConveyingandHandlingofParticulateSolids

Handbook of Pneumatic Conveying Engineering

Safety Aspectof Pneumatic Conveying

Handbook Of Fluidization And Fluid-Particle Systems

can also be a good handbook for understanding and the state of art

I have bought both books by David Mills and, though they are good reference and introduction, they aren't any student friendly. I personally need more solved examples and closed solution problems to train myself and others.

Klinzing is more pedagogical, judging from the Google Books sample pages. It has solved examples, but still lacks paper and pencil problems, simulations or any other similar teaching resources.

For a broad introduction, get this book:

It has a very nice chapter on pneumatic conveying.

My advice, however, is to read articles from the magazine Chemical Engineering or get a copy of Howden-Buffalo Fan Engineering Handbook. The Fan Handbook has a chapter on pneumatic conveying that will get you up and running in short time, at least for dilute phase conveying.

Most of us simply can't wait three months (the minimum it takes to study a 900 pages book) to start working and the books don't add much value to your training unless you plan to become a specialist. Then the approach would be to first get the quick and dirty learning and later study the books.

If you are looking for some information about material flow from bins and hoppers, mixing and blending or pneumatic conveying, suggest you look at powderandbulk.com as they have a complete lecture series on all those subjects avialble for a minimal cost.

The lectures are loaded with practical information and not bogged down with academic approaches to the issues.
