Liner Crusher Wear And Tear
Dear Sir,
Could you give some more informations about your crusher ?
size, thickness of the liner,
I could have some idea to reduce wear, for you but need to know some more ■
Crusher Liner Wear
Dear Azhar,
The one thing you have not told us the type of primary system you are using- whether it is an impact crusher, comminutor,hammer mill, cone crusher, roll crusher with a stationary roll and one moving gauge roll, etc. (My suggestions below are general in nature).
Are you screening your material before grinding?
Are you wet grinding the carbon? or is this not feasable with your product?
Hard surfacing in your case is the way to go as activated carbon is very abrasive, the resurfacing your doing is not going to waste as you are maintaining the original liner. Are you hard surfacing all the areas of impact/contact?, if you are not doing this you are only doing half the job so that may be your problem.
Since you are doing this(resurfacing the original liner) you are spending less money than installing new liner every time. You have to decide if it is more economical to install new liners versus hard facing at every maintenance cycle as you are grinding and regrinding huge amounts of material for the end product.
Please keep this in mind:
Any material will wear down from abrasion-whether is a plowshare, or a crusher liner,
and you must take this into consideration.
You are grinding and regrinding a huge amount of material in relation to the volume of the material,this is why i suggested thew second unit.
You may be money ahead to install a second grinder
to act as a primary grinder and feed the product to a secondary grinder-(the original) unit as a two step process- you are the one who has to decide this.
By relining the grinder you are maintaining it and this also give you the opportunity to do excellent maintenance of it since you are shut down for hard surfacing.
Your comments are most welcome.

Re: Liner Crusher - Wear & Tear
dear nissnor,
Our crusher liner size as below:
ID = 500mm,
thickness = 16 mm
material = M.S and hard surfacing with Coro. welding rode ( 3 mmt)
length = 700mm.
capacity = 500 kg/hr.
Dear Izaharis,
Our type of crusher is impact crusher. At this moment we have already installed two unit (in serries) for every line, the purpose is to increase the crushed product. But my intention here is how to improve the wear & tear problem, at least I can can prolong the life of our crusher liner and the same time we can reduce the maintenance cost. ■
