Good afternoon,

I hope this E-mail finds you well.

I’m contacting you regarding finding a solution for an issue with a few pieces of equipment’s on site, here at Allington.

We are an EFW Plant that uses Bubbling bed technology inside our furnaces. The sand on the bed can get too extreme temperatures which is conveyed through the sand system and recirculated through to the bed.

Due to the high temperatures and high wear we experience from the sand which can achieve 600C, the material we use on the flights of our screw conveyors suffers from high wear rate.

I’m interested to know if you have a or know of a material which may be capable of dealing with such temperatures which may prolong our in-service time before a repair is required.

The current technology we use is Hardox 500 with a chrome carbide hard facing applied to the flight.

At each outage opportunity, we repair in situ the flights by adding more hard facing or cutting off the old and replacing new to the tube.

For reference, we have 3 lines on site which each have 4x water cooled Bed Ash Discharge Screws, as well as 2xSand Screws

Ill be very interested to hear from your expertise on this matter.
