Belt conveyor for filter press discharge

Posted in: , on 23. Apr. 2016 - 18:59

Hi Engineers,

I have a Pressure filter With iron concentrate cake discharge capacity 44 ton, discharge duration will be 30s.

I want to design a belt conveyor for conveying dropped cakes in 8 minutes with velocity 4 m/s.

Please help me the design capacity of belt conveyor what should be considered?

If you have any references please mention it.

Regards.

Danger In Numbers

Are you sure there will be only one filter? Feed pipes will sediment if you have to shut off the delivery.

This is a perennial topic. The loading duty is quite severe and intermittent. Roller spacing is very close and the side plates along the chute resemble a moving belt bunker rather than a conveyor. When the bomb doors open 44t falls onto the conveyor and then must be delivered onto the cross belt. A moving chain bunker will provide better control from a feedback signal from the cross belt weigher. It is very difficult to get the discharges to fall into line and the cross belt usually has at least twice the capacity of the plant throughput. At least, with feedback signals, you can adjust all the filter discharges to some degree if there is positive displacement between the bomb doors and the cross belt. It only takes one filter to break the discharge sequence and the follow on shift is faced with a floor full of slop.

What Is Design Capacity Of This Condition?

thanks for good information.

as more information

we have one filter press that discharge filter cake with capacity 1361 t/s almost 40 into conveyor during 30 second but material must conveyed to downstream equipment in 8 min ,in addition every cycle of filter press for next dropping of material is 9 min.

I want to design of this conveyor but I don't know design capacity of this conveyor to ton per hour.

I am wondering if you can guide me.

Easy Peasy

The numbers conflict. In joined up writing the hourly rate is 330th-1. It is your choice depending on the conveying distance. You need a very wide device to accept the material whereas a much smaller belt will carry it. Discharging from a solitary filter poses no sequencing issues, especially considering out of sequence discharge faults: you just need to double the bunkering capacity under the bomb doors.

A Proper Method

What is the length of the bomb doors and what is the distance to be carried?

It is sometimes possible to fit the discharge into a semi trailer. I've done it twice before and it only depends on the distance to see how many trailers you need.

You are working off road so weight restrictions do not apply.
