Working in the USA is not as easy as it seems. ( I am not an expert on this so take the comments for what they are; comments and opinions only) You need to ask yourself what do I have that the USA needs. Now you need to sell this. You either go the immigration route and apply trough proper channels or you go the working visa route. By going the immigration route you do not need to be a specialist but just someone with good potential that the US believes will be an asset to them in the long run. This may take some time. If they accept you congratulations you become a citizen and get to file tax returns in the US for the rest of your life even if you choose to live elsewhere. You can get a TN visa to work there. Easy to get hard to maintain over long periods of time. Or get a H1 visa (I think that is what it is called). To get the H1 you need to have worked for the company for at least 1 year at which point they want to transfer you to the States and apply for your H1. This would mean starting with a US or International firm where you are and try to get transfered within the company. A Visa and be revoked and terminated by the US or a company at anytime at which point to have a very limited time to get your ass out of Dodge.

What ever you do follow the proper channels and don't lie. Immigration does not forget and you may be limiting your options further down the road.
