Fine dry screening (The criterion of material applicable)

We are developing the unit for fine dry screening. The unit can be used both as separator mounted on the mill outlet and for screen separation directly.

The run of tests was carried out which confirmed normal operation of the grids #20ƒm and #40ƒm for dolomite powder screening.

But so inert material as boron nitride powder, having a small quantity of particles larger then 20ƒm, clogged the #20ƒm grid at once.

My conclusion is: There is the class of powders, which impossible separate by fine screening.

I tried to screen the BN powder thought the #100ƒm grid by laboratory vibration screening device. Top cat of the powder is less then 100ƒm. But the test was failed, the grid was clogged too.

I would like to ask the specialists opinions:

1.Is my conclusion correct, that there are kind of powders unsuitable for fine dry screening?

2.Can the test of powder vibration screening on grid #100ƒm (#75ƒm) use as criterion of material applicable for fine screening?

Screenable Or Not ...."That Is Thee Question"

My recommendation would be as follows:

Send a 45 gallon drum or two...to a reputable vibrating screen manufacturer.....most have their own test labratory screeners. They will set up your exact specifications on their LAB MODELS IN HOUSE ...with the exact wirecloth openings you need to split at and will confirm in WRITING....all results.

1. This puts the recommendation into the hands of experts

2. Experts will confirm in writing the results and have you come to see in person if you desire

3. They will throw all variations of vibration speeds, strokes and slope angles till they get it perfect.

4. They will send you screened products back to prove the test results for you to see.

5. always we can do mathematical assumptive calculations by VSMA or other methods, then apply our field experience to TWEEK THAT screen sizing to its most EFFICIENT SIZE.

Hoping this helps.
