Flexible Chutes

We have the need for several dewatered sludge silos (30 -35% dry solids - just like soil) that are used to fill containers.

In order to prevent odour and gas release we need flexible chutes to couple up to the containers.

We need a fast turnaround on coupling - preferably under 1 minute per coupling.

I personally can see this being constructed from flexible rubber sheet (or bellows) fixed to a plastic blank flange fitted with quick release clamps, this would be hooked up when not being used. However I would like to know:

1) Is this a common detail?

2) Is there an "off the shelf" system we could buy?

3) Is there an automated system out there, which would do away with the need for manual coupling?

Any leads to suppliers would be appreciated.

Regards

James

==========================================================

why are you doing it this way instead of using roll off containers with lids?

If your sludge has any odor left there is a problem with either your aeration or filter press.

are you using a vacuum filter? perhaps the fabric is in need of replacement?

You did not state whether you employ an aerobic or anereobic digestion system.

perhaps you are removing the sludge too soon?

Conveying 30-35% solids slurry with a screw is not ideal equipment selection.

Expect messy leaking.
