Dear a5386445,

Your question what is the max distance i can blow the cement ? seems not relevant, because you also give the distance (70 m).

To answer your question, the maximum length you can convey cement with your compressor is estimated at approx. 4 km with a capacity of 1 ton/hr.

Probably, you are more interested in the conveying rate of the VM75 at a distance of 70m and which pipeline diameter.

Let us know.

thanks for your interest mr Teus

i need to know what is the maximum length of pipe that i can transfer cement on the ship.

it is an existing system old one that iam not sure if it going to be efficient

pipe diameter=12inches

what should i calculate?

best regards

okay i was not correct before

i want to blow cement on a rate 180tonnes/hour through the below:

i have an aerzen VM 75 400kw DN200 and FK PUMP 180MT/HOUR

Flow at inlet : 93.6m3/min

press diff: 2.1 bar

motor speed = 2950

inlet pressure = 1 bar

12 inches pipe

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER CEMENT WITH 160-180MT/HOUR ?

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LENGTH I CAN TRANSFER CEMENT ON THAT RATE?

THANKS

Dear a5386445,

The first question is:

IS IT POSSIBLE TO TRANSFER CEMENT WITH 160-180MT/HOUR ?

How much cement can be fed by a Fuller Kinyon pump DN200 into a pneumatic conveying line? The FLS website is not providing this information.

Keep in mind that the FK pump (probably a FK M200) has an 8” outlet.

The VM75 is a too big compressor for the 8" FK pump.

The VM75 is also a too big compressor for a 12”pipeline. (a 14” pipeline at 2.1 barg is more suitable)

The combination VM75 and FK M200 might require a FK pump air by pass arrangement, which is not easy to control with only one compressor.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM LENGTH I CAN TRANSFER CEMENT ON THAT RATE?

This question can be assessed, when the 1st question is solved.

Have nice day

Teus

okay Mr Teus

i will come back tomorrow with all the details of the existing system design

thanks so much for evwrything so far

Dear a5386445,

thanks for your interest mr Teus

i need to know what is the maximum length of pipe that i can transfer cement on the ship.

it is an existing system old one that iam not sure if it going to be efficient

pipe diameter=12inches

what should i calculate?

Preliminary calculation result:

L-horizontal = 55m

L-vertical = 15 m

Number of bends = 3

Compressor: Aerzen VM 75 = 93.6 m3/min

Feeder: FK pump M250 = 180 tons/hr at 2.1 bar (??????)

Compressor pressure = 0.82 barg

Pressure drop FK pump M250 = 0.187 bar

The calculated maximum conveying length is estimated at approx. 380 m (L-hor= 335 m, L-vert = 15 m)

Compressor pressure = 2.1 barg

Pressure drop FK pump M250 = 0.143 bar

Remark:

A FK pump requires a controlled feed into a surge hopper with filter above the screw pump intake.

This is to prevent stalling of the screw pump.

The drive motor must be capable of starting in Delta.

Notice that the above figures are an indication only.

it is an existing system old one that iam not sure if it going to be efficient

Is the equipment in good condition and what is your perception of efficient?

Take care

Teus
