Hi All,

I am new member and kindly if there are any calculations or design corelations of design the bag filter:

* the air volume of the system( how it estimated)

* the filter area required by the filter unit( how can choose it)

* the size of the fan Set

* the velocity of the air suction

* the negative pressure estimation

* the shap limitations

and please inform me any data about air slide and it's applications and when , why it used.

i will be very thanks if any one can help me with this ASAP.

blaryon,

Design of bag filters and duct systems cannot be learned in a hurry. It requires large amounts of experience and knowledge about the characteristics of dust.

If you have a specific need for an actual system, go to reputable bagfilter manufacturers and ask for a quotation.

If you are simply seeking knowledge, start with "Industrial Ventilation" published by the American Conference of Governmenal Industrial Hygienists. It has all the basics.

Design of airslide conveyors is a similarly tricky subject. Look for posts on this forum by Dr. Amrit Agarwal. He has been able to help others on the subject.

Michael Reid.

Dear Dr. Amrit Agarwal, Dear Michael Reid,

Many thanks for your quick reaction, the material we deal with is cement.

in order to have the knowledge what i can have and through what source and how can i get it?

please if you can send to me a copy of the mentioned article "Design Guide for Dust Collectors" and "Industrial Ventilation".

truly i appreciate your effort and your accomulated searchs and studies, and which will help many engineer all around.

since the first time i deal with dedusting field and low knowledge of the naturer and variation of it, my quesions is sometimes seem to be general, so if can contact with your team i think i will get up.

thanks again for your time.

Hi all

I am new member and seeking for the same design procedure of dust collector and Bucket Elevator i have some broken threads of their design procedure.Like

For Dust Collector calc. of motor power:

Motor Power(KW)= Air Volume (m3/hr) * Pressure (mmWG)/ 3600*100*.8*.8 (fan & motor efficiencies)

But these methods are not so reliable.

So please suggest me any data book about Bucket Elevator design also and if anyone has above mentioned book "Design Guide for Dust Collectors" plz send me a copy.

Looking forward for your kind replies.

As already advised by Designer, you can BUY a copy of "Industrial Ventilation" from the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, (or from Amazon etc.).

This will answer your questions.

Michael Reid.

Why oh why do so many people expect others to buy books then donate copies to them!!

ANYONE worth their salt should expect to invest in their own future not try to get on, on the backs of others!

Design Of Dust Collector

Dear Amrit,

Hi Amrit, can i please have a copy of your publication " Design of Dust Collector " ? I am trying to find some theoritical calculation of A/C ratio and can velocity ratio for some time already, A/C ratio really doesn't seems to be too much of a issue as it doesn't affect the dust collector as muh as can velocity.

Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us
