SUPER GROUP LAUNCHES INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT COMPANY

Super Group, JSE-listed integrated supply chain management organisation, has announced the launch of Super Group Industrial Products (SGIP). SGIP is an importer and distributor of commercial vehicles, industrial equipment products and related services. The business was formed as a result of a merger between Super Group Equipment, Super Group Commercial Vehicles, MMS Cranes, Hermans Truck Accident Repair, Cargolite and Africa Truck Assemblers.

SGIP is active across a range of industries and its comprehensive product range is ideal for utilisation in a host of different applications. A number of SGIP’s vehicle and equipment solutions are already deployed in industries including agriculture, public works, construction, logistics and forestry.

The formation of SGIP sees a number of recognised international brands being consolidated under one roof. These include leading European brands such as Rapiscan Systems, Jungheinrich and Hidromek, as well as established Asian brands such as Powerstar, XCMG, Dalian, JonYang, YTO and Shaanxi. Strategic partnerships have been formed with these world-class original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The product range includes, wheel loaders, graders, forklifts, backhoe loaders, security scanning equipment, cranes, tippers, mixers and truck tractors.

According to Hilton Mer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Super Group Industrial Products, the amalgamation of the various businesses has allowed the consolidation of their respective infrastructures and enabled SGIP to strengthen its position in the market by creating a customer-centric culture.

“The amalgamation has created the ideal foundation from which to offer an extensive range of products and services, including heavy duty trucks, yellow equipment, mobile cranes, truck bodies and trailers made to specification, truck accident repairs, as well as parts and service solutions to support these products.

“We are seeking to deliver the highest levels of pre-delivery and after-sales service to our customers. In addition, our ultimate goal is to provide a range of application-fit solutions that delivers superior up-time to the customer,” says Mer.

SGIP recently produced the 1000th Powerstar unit at its Pietermaritzburg plant. “We have been manufacturing the Powerstar range in South Africa for two years, and this milestone reaffirms our commitment to our customers to continually strive to bring them improved service levels and enhanced product offerings.”

The company has an infrastructure throughout the country that is complemented by a support and distribution network that stretches into sub-Saharan Africa. SGIP is headquartered in Jet Park, Johannesburg and has regional offices and dealerships in Durban, Port Elizabeth, Pietermaritzburg, Cape Town, Centurion and Jet Park.

Offices are staffed by trained, professional consultants and technicians that can assist customers in all aspects of procuring a suitable product, including selecting the model, service plan, and leasing option, as well as guiding the choice of customised options to suit specific applications.
