Calculation of Coal Bunker Size for Thermal Power Plant

Dear Sir/ Madam ,

Can anyone provide the details to calculate the capacity of bunker when the below mentioned details are provided :

Coal requirement : 450 TPH

Number of Bunkers : 8 Nos per Unit ( 1 Nos Standby) ( Total : 02 units )

It is a coal fired thermal power plant having capacity of 660 MW / Unit

Another algebra puzzle:

Coal tonnage is C * 24 * 2 * 900 * 365 + Buffer tonnage volume = V

bunker volume is equal to 450* 18 * 24

variables

S = stockpile size S+B*365=

X= trains per week TW * 52+ B=X

x = trains lost or delayed

X-b-x trains lost due to equipment breakdown or force majour from flooding or tyhoons.

B = buffer storage tonnage = 365 * 18 * 450 * 24 * D= B

You should be asking for a consultant rather than asking us on the forum as its something you need to PAY for anyway.

By the way you cannot reasonabl,y expect an answer no matter how legitimate without knowledge of coal delivery methods,

boiler types, fan requirements for FD or ID, for said thermal power plants boilers, and the type of coal prep and you have

really done no research about this have you!!

This information must be supplied by the power station designer/consultant.

It should not be expected to be supplied by an equipment supplier.

In A Word....

No.

This question is superficial. Unit changes its cloak at will and the tph seems to be on the light side anyway. No doubt there will be subsequent snippets of information intended to keep the post alive until a benign soul decides to take on the whole job for free. We are given 5 unrelated numbers and asked to provide system details....for nowt!

Dear Shri S B Murugan,

You need to find out coal consumption with respect to generation capacity on hourly basis or on 24 hour basis.

As I remember, the coal bunkers are sized for 24 hours supply of coal to continue the power generation even if the down-line conveying / feeding system is non-operational. The engineers directly concerned with the coal based power station will have more specific information.
