Haver & Boecker sends a signal – Brazilian subsidiary inaugurates a new plant in the heart of the cement and mining region

In the middle of December Haver & Boecker Latinoamericana (HBL) inaugurated new offices and production facilities for its daughter company Haver Serviços in Perdo Leopoldo near the metropolitan city of Belo Horizonte. HBL is itself a subsidiary of Haver & Boecker OHG of Oelde, Germany which has been working on the Brazilian market since 1974.

With this investment, which had been decided long before the global financial crisis broke out, HBL has simply built on the positive developments of the previous year and has established a leading position for itself, especially in the building materials industry. Now it has set up a new plant with 500 square meters of office space and 1000 square meters of production area for its rapidly growing daughter company in the heart of the Brazilian cement and mining region. The decision was not based solely on the presence of its many long-term customers, but also on the fact the community of Pedro Leopoldo has provided already developed industrial areas at no cost for new companies.

Haver Serviços is specialised in the production and refurbishment of large-size screening machines for the iron ore industry. Its service department will also provide spare parts and service for the regional building material producers.

The main objectives are to intensify direct customer contact by being present locally and to provide positive signals by creating new jobs despite the financial crisis. Managing Director and Partner of the German parent company Dr. Reinhold Festge says, “We have tremendous confidence in the South American market and our potential to perform there“.
