Cougar® Vibration Showcases Truck Vibrators at NTEA Show

Peru, IL, USACougar Vibration will be highlighting its extensive series of 12V and 24V truck vibrators at this year’s NTEA Work Truck Show, held March 8-10 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. The company will feature a product line that covers long haul trucks and vibrators for dump trucks, mixer trucks and spreaders.

Cougar truck vibrators help drivers ensure complete emptying of bulk materials, reducing the need for personnel to enter dump beds for manual cleanout. “Any time you can minimize the need for people to climb into or out of a truck bed, it helps to avoid the potential for injuries,” said Cougar Vibration Marketing Director Sue Griffith. “Effective vibration technology can be a huge asset in reducing workman’s compensation incidents,” she added.

Truck vibrators also increase productivity by helping to eliminate carry-back, giving drivers more payload per cycle and fewer cycles per job. The result is reduced fuel costs, labor expenses and vehicle wear. A properly-placed and -installed vibrator also saves cleanout time and helps to more evenly distribute material when spreading.

In addition to savings from more complete truck emptying, Cougar vibrators also help prevent unnecessary vehicle damage that can result from attempts to fully evacuate the material. By avoiding the sudden stops and starts commonly used to help break loose a stubborn load, vibration can reduce wear on clutches, brakes and transmissions. It also reduces the opportunity for damage to tailgates and truck beds from equipment used to remove residual material.

The entire family of 12V and 24V vibrators from Cougar Vibration is built with shielded, oversized, permanently-lubricated ball bearings to deliver exceptional service life. All models are sealed against dirt, dust and water intrusion for reliability in extreme service conditions. The small size and light weight of the high-speed, low-amperage electric motors contribute to easy, low-cost installation and efficient operation.

One of the models the company will showcase at the NTEA event is the DC-3200, a powerful, heavy-duty design that’s intended for dump trucks with a capacity of 10-15 yards, live-bottom tandem dump trucks that carry 15-30 yards, as well as large spreaders and vacuum trucks. The unit delivers 4,000 vibration cycles per minute (VPM) with 3,200 pounds of force, while drawing just 85 amps from the 12V model and 62 amps from the 24V version.

Also on hand at the NTEA event will be the Cougar Vibration DC-80, a compact unit well suited for tailgate spreaders and pull-behind units, as well as mixer trucks. Available in a 12V version only, the DC-80 delivers 4,000 VPM, while pulling just 5 amps. The company will also feature mid-sized designs for sweeper trucks and industrial vacuums.

The 2011 NTEA Work Truck Show is expected to attract more than 8,000 attendees. Held in conjunction with the annual NTEA Convention, the event will cover an estimated 500,000 square feet of exhibit space in all, housing 500+ exhibitors showcasing Class 1-8 vocational trucks and equipment.

New product launches at the show are expected to include advancements in truck chassis, bodies and equipment, as well as snow and ice control equipment, cranes and lifts, material handling equipment and a wide range of parts and components.

Cougar Vibration has been a leading U.S. manufacturer of high-quality industrial vibrators through six decades, supplying heavy-duty AC and DC electric designs that have earned a reputation for performance and durability. After patenting the world’s first 12-volt truck vibrator in 1964, vibration technology and material flow have been the company’s sole focus, furthering a long-term commitment to deliver the most rugged and reliable equipment on the market.
