American Chemical Society and FIZ Karlsruhe strengthen their strategic partnership / World‚s largest scientific society ACS new FIZ AutoDoc supplier / Madeleine Jacobs, CEO of the ACS, visits FIZ Karlsruhe to discuss opportunities of collaboration / FIZ AutoDoc to be presented at the Online Information exhibition in London (Dec 4 - 6, 2007).
Karlsruhe/London, December 2007 - The American Chemical Society (ACS) and FIZ Karlsruhe have strengthened their strategic partnership to supply scientific information beyond STN International. On the occasion of a visit to FIZ Karlsruhe, Madeleine Jacobs, Executive Director & CEO of the ACS, and Sabine Brünger-Weilandt, President & CEO of FIZ Karlsruhe, signed a supplier agreement for FIZ Karlsruhe‚s automated full-text broker service FIZ AutoDoc. Within the scope of this agreement, ACS will contribute its publications to FIZ AutoDoc‚s global supplier network.
„For many years we have been collaborating with ACS in offering our services for information transfer and knowledge management to researchers. The new agreement is a further step in this successful partnership,‰ Sabine Brünger-Weilandt explained. Together with ACS‚ division CAS (Chemical Abstracts Service), which this year celebrated its 100th anniversary, FIZ Karlsruhe has been operating the online service STN International for 23 years now. Via STN the business partners make available a worldwide unique collection of about 200 sophisticated online databases from all areas of science and technology. The content focuses on chemistry and international patent information.
