Fire Resistant Conveyor Belt Selection

Posted in: , on 11. Apr. 2013 - 02:02

Hi All,

I had a very detailed look to previous threads and couldn't find my answer so please forgive me for opening new thread.

I have been working on two existing conveyor designs.

1- 3000mm wide conveyor - Run in enclosed building - Steel Cord Belt and Cover Material is M.

2- 3000mm wide conveyor - Run in enclosed concrete gallery - Steel Cord Belt and Cover Material is M.

I checked AS1755 and relevant standards but couldn't find what I am looking for...in my opinion, those two belts should be fire resistant belt (at least bottom cover should be grade F) because in case of fire, there is no access through fire hoses and sprinkler system wouldn't be enough. Therefore;

if there is any specific spec or document which tells us how we can decide fire resistant or normal belt would be suitable?

I would like to raise this issue but before doing this,I need some supporting documents.

Regards

Ugur
