ALTAIR: PNEUMATIC CONVEYING SYSTEM IN DENSE PHASE WITH AIR-CONTROL, FOR PARBOILED RICE
Altair srl has recently realized an important plant of pneumatic transport in dense phase with air control in the food industry for a prestigious multinational Company, relevant to the transport of parboiled rice from storage silos to packaging.
The plant guarantees to the client the following performances:
• Percentage of breaking after the pneumatic transport, contained among 0,5-1,5% from the initial product.
Data of Project :
• Product : parboiled rice
• Specific weight : 0,8 kg/ dm3
• Granulometry : grains
• Humidity : 14% max
• Transport capacity : 22,5 t / h.
• Length of the transport line : 120 m
• Number of 90° curves : 6
The plant is a continuous system composed by two pneumatic stainless steel 304 propellers, with 1.500 liter capacity and a 6" conveying pipeline.
Through a PLC, the plant manages and checks automatically all the phases of the process, from loading of product from silos, to propellers managing up to the receipt of rice at the packaging department.
Thanks to technology of air-control devices which are positioned in optimal location along the pipelines, it is possible to check the exact quantity of air and pressure necessary to obtain the transport speed of the product inside the pipeline, lower than 1 mt/sec, thus to grant the minimum degradation of the product.
