Re: Calculation Of Belt Conveyor
There's more to designing a belt conveyor than stuffing numbers in a formula.
Just go to the CEMA web site and search for their design guide.
THEN JUST BUY IT! ■
Re: Calculation Of Belt Conveyor
many thanks, I already read the page .But in this thread they calculate mass flow, that can be conveyored by definite belt conveyor. I would like to calculate a belt conveyor based on the mass flow.
May be you can help me
Thanks you so much!!! ■
Re: Calculation Of Belt Conveyor
Dear Maxim,
Use the attachment of the mentioned thread and change the parameters until you get the required general dimensions.
The technical design is another task and needs knowledge and extensive experience.
Ask for a quotation of known and proven vendors.
Try;
Band width 1100 mm
Freeboard 190 mm
c = bottom roller = 350 mm
rest as from your own specification
success

Re: Calculation Of Belt Conveyor
So if I understand correctly, is it not possible to calculate belt based on the massflow?.
But I suppose It must be possible? It is ordinary problem, mostly do you have massflow and you have to calculate belt based on given massflow?
Many thanking you in application

Re: Calculation Of Belt Conveyor
Dear Maxim,
First of all, a belt conveyor is a volume transporting device.
The rate is calculated as : Volume = cross-section x velocity.
The conveyed mass is then known by multiplying the volume rate by the density.
You can change the spreadsheet calculation, where the only factor is mass flow.
Then you must limit yourself to fixed dimension ratios of the belt- and roller configuration.
In the end, the calculations are the same.
Have a nice day

Re: Calculation Of Belt Conveyor
1) listen to what Teus has told you, bulk materials handling machines are SIZED on their volumetric capacity - m3/hr
2) having established the machine size the power requirement is based on their gravimetric capacity - te/hr
3) the relationship between the two capacities is the material density te/m3
Now, have you ordered that book I referred you to?
If not, WHY NOT!! DO IT NOW!!! ■
Calculation of Belt Conveyor
Hello,
I have the following question:
i want to calculate a belt conveyor (triple roller troughed belt) with following data:
massflow 550 t/h
Beltspeed 2,09 m/s
troughing angle 35 °
surcharge angle 15 °
filling dergee 80%
bulk density 0,8 t/m
Can you help me to find a formula for the calculation of a belt conveyor?please
thanking you in anticipation
regards ■
