Fly Ash Storing and Reclaiming

I am looking for inforamtion or experience of storing and reclaiming fly ash in dome stores. What are the best means for stacking dome and also for reclaiming material. Will there be a problem with long term storage of such a fine product in a circular dome.

Is there any out there with experience of handling this product in this manner?

We use concrete silos for fly ash

Dome should be similar....??

Load in via pnematic blowing.

Extraction by airslides or you could use mechanical screw.

All fly ashes are not equal - it should be tested for ability to aerate/hold aerations.

Fly ash can settle and compact to a decent BD over time - this means that very steep repose angles can form during extraction and you may get rumbling as the steep walls collapse. We get this due to the long period between ship loading exports...not an issue if design is OK.

Archie,

a fly ash dome of 52m dia was built last year for Ciment Lafarge, which includes a vibrating floor reclaimer. Long time storage is not a problem. We can document you fully on this one, just contact jcp.silexport@wanadoo.fr

Hello

I can support the reply of Mr. Morrish to 100%.

Fly ash should be stored in small diameter silos with small areated floor foot prints based on inverted cones. This kind of storage and extraction is state of the art and to find all over the world. To store fly ash in large diameter storages is not proofen very often and should be answered by operators of such systems.
