Hi,

This post would really be better served in the Stacking, Blending & Reclaim section.

Then it would be seen, and possibly addressed, by Mr A Bannerjee who, at recent memory, has a copy of the Trans-Tech handbook covering such machinery and its application.

But its a very complex variable: the core of the business and very secret. So secret that perhaps the manufacturers don't even know very well. For your purposes it is one of the easiest tests in the repetoir. Rent a medium excavator; take it to site; put it to work and record the hydraulic pressure fluctuations in the digging rams. You can even plot graphs for different speeds and bucket dimensions. Such tests should be chargeable to the end user as part of the material specification rubbish that we always receive.

PS Where's the Smiley bar gone?
