Screw conveyor for bag filter

Dears,

thanks for your technical suggestion in these forums which were very useful for me.

I am an engineer of machanics and I am going to design a screw conveyor for a baghouse of cement mill. I have designed it with 500mm diameter in 6540mm length with tube diameter 219.1x6.3 so without any hanger bearing.

my question is about the aeration problem in screw conveyor. As we have flow of gas in the baghouse and the baghouse works in vacuum status,regarding to your experience, the aeration problem will be exist? if any what is the solution?

Screw Conveyor For Bag House

Most of the bag houses for cement mills work under suction conditions. Scew conveyors are in use as a preferred equipment for removal of fines collected in the hopper under bag house. Normally bag house supplier supplies bag house with dust extraction screw conveyor. Aeration poses no problem as you are going to use an air-lock device under discharge pipe. ■

You may need to consider your design carefully if the hoppering above screw conveyor can become full of dust. ■

I should say that we ourselves design and manufacture the bag house.

1- what is your idea about the specification of screw conveyor, is it OK?

2- what should I consider for hopper filling?you mean I should consider level switch avoiding that or I should consider something in design of screw conveyor so that can handle this situation? ■

You should consider that a screw conveyor under a flooded hopper needs a different design to one that is just required to convey away material that is fed to it.

If you are not confident to design a suitable unit then there are many reputable manufacturers who will sell you one, or consultants that you can employ to design one for you. ■
