Information about Fine Grinding CaCO3

Posted in: , on 29. Oct. 2008 - 10:18

Dear Bulkoholics

I'm trying to gather technical information about grinding, milling (and classification) processes and equipments that can be used for Calcium Carbonate (GCC?).

In terms of particle size, the objective is the micron. In terms of scale, this is for large industrial application.

Pendular Mill, Pulsed Pressure Cylinder Mill, Ball Mill, Classifier Mill, Percussion Mill, Stirring Mill are the technologies of interest identified.

I've identified some equipments manufacturers already but I am wondering where is the place to search for latest commercial communications, latest products & technologies, recent scientific publications, patents on this subject (fine grinding, micro grinding)?

Is there a specific "Journal of Calcium Carbonate Micro&Nano-grinding"?!

Maybe this request should be posted in another more specific forum...?

Thanks in advance for your help, this is highly appreciated.

Pierre,

Good day to you, I am unsure if you have had a chance to review General Kinematics Vibra-Drum Mill but it has been used to effectively grind GCC to ultra-fine (below 2 microns) with low contamination. Brightness is usually quite critical with GCC and with low contamination you end up with a brighter product. Please contact me via e-mail if you have any questions.

Hey,

first of all, what is the feed size and what is the needed and size, with which capacity?

For what will be the CaCO3 be used (Filler in plastics, paper......).

So please give me an answer that I can help you.

Kind regards
