Vibrating Screen Not Working

Posted in: , on 3. May. 2011 - 08:33

Dear Members,

Greetings to all. I am new to this forum and new to vibrating screen field too.

Pl find attached two photos of Vibrating screener which is not vibrating with the present arrangement.

vibro screener -1

vibro screener -2

Our job is to make it vibrating and please suggest as to how it can be modified. In our views it might be vibrating if the following modifications are done.

1.Shifting the left side leg ( from feeding end ) from the existing position to the center point between the motor center and fly wheel center.

2.Shifting the left side leg ( from feeding end ) from the existing position to the already designed location ( center of the pipe which is at the right side of the left side Springs) seen in the photo.

3.Pl see the fly wheel photo wherein the counter weight's mass has to be further increased. Presently the weight may be @ 1 kg which may be doubled to increase the vibration stroke. This has to be done in addition above anyone of the modification.

4.Shifting the left side springs ( from feeding end ) from the existing position to the center point between the motor center and fly wheel center.

Please have a look at the attached photos and suggest whether anyone of the above suggestion will work or suggest some other method which is feasible & economical.

Thanks in advance.

Namaskar Satheesh,

Greetings and salutations, welcome to the forum.

Thanks much for the excdellent photos you have

provided to us as they are very well done.

Gathering what I have from the photos-

I think the issue is one of V-belt pulleys. The driven pulley is too large

and therefore cannot develop enough speed(exitation)(elliptical orbit)(stroke in the case of flat screeners) to overcome the cancelation

effect of the support springs.

What you need to do first is look for the stroke card down loads here on the

bulk online web site from one of George Bakers postings as he has wealth of

information on screeners. George has also provided complete instructions on

how to properly use and make the stroke cards for the end user as well.

What the stroke card does is show the user how much the screen is moving

to complete its orbit or stroke for the end user.

Vibrating Screen Working But Creating More Noise

Posted on 16. May. 2011 - 09:35

Dear lzaharis,

Thanks for your reply.

I want you share you that vibrating screen is vibrating properly when we added 10 Kg of weight in two pieces. The vibrating frequency is very high as the motor rpm is 1400 rpm and the drive and driven pulley ratio is 1:1.

Next problem is vibrating screen creates much noise. I think this problem is due to thin sheet material used for side covers. Whether the sheets are to be replaced with heavier plates or it can be rectified by reducing the RPM of the motor.

Kindly suggest a solution.

Thanks,

satheesh.

Comments On Your Screen Box Design From My Prospective........H…

Posted on 26. May. 2011 - 03:00

Thanks for the 2 pics:

1. I can see your body design is first and foremost a huge problem....the vibrating box is much heavier on the discharge end than the feed end and the tapered sideplates further hinders thee OFF BALANCED condition

2. you have welded or attached the feed plate and the same with a side discharge lip welded on there that creates a discharge point YES, but, creates a huge unbalanced condition which WILL be definitely problematic

3. please advise how WIDE and how long this is and total static vibrating weight.

4. your coil springs by EYE are way UNDERSIZED to handle the load above them for sure

5. the placement of the springs is completely incorrect and should be attached by bolt on top and bottom spring plates to the actual SIDEPLATE of the screen box....NOT at a major distant from the vibrating body. The purpose of those springs is to ISOLATE vibration when shutting down the screen...from the structure it is ON...

6. Your vibrating motor seems to be homemade, but it MUST be calculated to actually impede an accelerating force into the screen box to lift (or statify) the material and on the same stroke...move it towards the discharge end of the screen length.

8. what is the ANGLE of the screen box on that portable chassis frame?

9. what RPM is the screen box taching out at?

10. what is the LENGTH by tape measurement of the actual linear stroke on that rig?

11. the width appears to be UNDERSIZE to the length WHICH theoretically and in practice should be in the relationship of the width being X ( X being ...say 5 feet wide) and the length being 2X or say 10" feet long...or close this type of arrangement...

12. how thick are the SIDEPLATES?

13. WHAT ARE YOU ATTEMPTING to SCREEN out...LITTLE sand and gravel from BIG STUFF or? because that is what decides how we build what speed, what incline, what stroke, what RPM, etc into the screenbox to do that particular JOB...

14. Unfortunately, ONE DESIGN does not fit all materials..

I have seen many people over the years attempt to design and build a vibrating screen....and many failures...if we do not follow basic vibrating screen design parameters as setout in basic engineering books.

Good luck....George Baker MODERATOR
