Functional Test Procedure for Vibrating Screen

Posted in: , on 17. Dec. 2014 - 15:00

Hi,

I want to carry out vibration and functional test of vibrating screen in factory before shipping to plant and installation, So I need a test procedure or standard for doing this test.

Is it possible to test equipment in unloading condition?

In what range of frequency, equipment should be tested?

How much time should be considered for mechanical, functional and vibration testing?

Best Regards,

Thanks.

Testing A Vibrating Screen Prior To Ship

Posted on 3. Jan. 2015 - 02:31

the manufacturer of vibrating screens will typically test continuous running on a test pad setup in the shop for minimum 4 hours:

looking for the following:

1. correct circle stroke on the body, to confirm it is what was it was designed for....ie: 3/8" circle or on a horizontal screen: 1/2" long or whatever you wanted.

2. correct operating RPM: by tachometer check ie: 3/8" stroke at 840rpm on a 20 deg inclined screen for example

3. correct balance of the vibrating body: is it shaking in a balanced condition, smoothly and not erratically. confirmed by a nice pencil STROKE CARD CHECK.

4. correct shutdown test: time when you shutoff power, to see how ERRATIC the screen reacts and confirm if normal or not.

5. correct oil operating temp or grease operating temperature. with a heat gun on the bearing housing. Confirm if temp is within the bearing manufacturers operating specs

6. check for any and all loose parts and tighten same

7. if bearings are running HOT, disassemble and refit to proper Outer Race clearances....if too tight in the bearing housing, reassemble and retest

8. send a one page report with TEST results with machine when shipped to confirm it ran fine in the ship by actual TEST.

a few pointers..

Dear Mostafa,

first of all please define if your screen is tumbler or horizontal vibrating screen.

tumbler:

you can find videos in youtube that shows adjusting screen in two axis in plane. mean while you can use pencil to draw screen oscillation.
