Post-Doc Position for Key Researcher DEM / CFD-DEM

CFDEMresearch operates the international www.cfdem.com platform. Together with DCS Computing, the main developer, maintainer and commercial supporter, we contribute to the development of the freely available CFD-DEM and DEM open source simulation engines CFDEM®coupling-PUBLIC and LIGGGHTS®-PUBLIC.

Our passion is to develop numerical software to model the processing (e.g. production, transport, storage) of particles such as sand, sugar, crops, coal, pharmaceutical powder, chemicals and many more. These processes cause a huge share of the world’s energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. CFDEM®coupling and LIGGGHTS® are used globally by leading Blue Chip companies from a variety of industries as well as leading research institutes and universities. Our contributions to CFDEM®coupling and LIGGGHTS® facilitate research & development for sustainable growth and increasing process throughput and efficiency while energy and carbon footprints are decreased.

To strengthen our team in Linz/Austria, we are looking for a Key Researcher

You will work on a funded project (creating models for the numerical simulation of soil and crops) and grow CFDEMresearch by connecting to other universities and filing research proposals.

Technical requirements:

•interest in modelling of physical phenomena, especially flow processes

•knowledge and experience in CFD and/or DEM methods

•knowledge and experience in software development, ideally in C++ and git

Business requirements:

•experience in writing research proposals and supervision of co-workers

•a goal-oriented and well organized personality as well as good communication and English skills

•enthusiasm, a broad range of interest, and the capability to learn rapidly
