Hi all,

I have a Mill feed bucket belt to handle balls, which has specifications XE800/4+2, Top + Bottom = 6+2mm, Cut edge, Side wall = S200 T180 Cleat, Length 190 meters.

While i tested the plies, found 2 different layers of plies (Perhaps Polyster??) and 4 Nylon plies.

Can anyone pls. give valuable advice on Splicing, step lenth and buff off!! Manufacturer specs are not supplied with the belt. It is an unbranded belt.

Thanks for your replies,

Sincerely,

Dev Challa

Dear Mr.Dev Challa,

XE800/4+2 means it is a bucket belt. Rating is 800 N/mm having 4 plies. +2 means , it has 02 break plies for cross rigidity, one may at the top and one may be at the bottom.

You may go ahead as if you would be doing for 800/4. Rectangular joints are preferred, though I do not know the reason.

Hi Ganesh

Thanks for your reply. Can you pls. give some more input on how to do rectangular splicing? Do you mean to proceed with 5 steps!! What lengths. Is buff off required?

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Dev Challa
