Re: Possibility Of Rope Conveyor For 5 Km Long Coal Conveying
Ropeway vs Conventional Belt,
Note, KPC is built on a swamp over 5 km of its 13 km length. This works by applying a engineering fabric mat. THe conveyor is designed to be adjusted/aligned over time if settlement ocurrs. THis works because the specific pressure is small with many supports.
If you apply a ropeway design, of conventional belt or Dopplemeyer type, the local pylon swamp specific bearing pressures will be much higher. How do you overcome this high pressure design detail? ■

Further note:
The belt stringer structure can facilitate a maintenance trolley similar to the 96 km Phosbucraa overland. ■

Dear Lawrence Nordell,
Thank you for yr information; Geo textile option we consider; Other economical solutions if any we suggest, if not Geo Textile we get detailed costing. Thank you. ■
Coal Haulage
you can consider using Pnumatic Capsule pipe system for moving coal on this terrain. Foot-print of pipe will be small and can be placed on Geo Fabric strengthened Road. A have attached a pfd file presentation by Henry Liu, President
Freight Pipeline Company
Columbia, Missouri
His other paper deals with square pipe 1 m sq. cross section and certainly capable of handling your transport requirements

Re: Possibility Of Rope Conveyor For 5 Km Long Coal Conveying
Dear Sir,
Thank you for yr reply
The geo textiled service road considered and started work , but the work progress seems very slow, and for 5 km, anticipated atleast 2 years to complete due to the soil condition and hence the overall schedule will be delayed further. Is there any other options for fast track.Kindly advise

Re: Possibility Of Rope Conveyor For 5 Km Long Coal Conveying
One of our clients looks for alternatives to normal overland belt conveyor to handle coal (50mm size) over 5 km distance, 2000 tph ( May be later upgraded to 3000 tph).
The overland belt conveyor is difficult because the surface/road can not be made rigid due to swamp (mud and every fill go into the swamp, can not get rigit base to have foundations). Piling very expensive option, if ropeway is existing for such capacity and viable our client keen to work with them.
Kindly suggest any other ways to handle this problem?
