Dear All,

I need small clarification, For Pneumatic conveying system with capacity of 5 tph , 100 mtrs distance, can i use compressed air for conveying the pet coke material.

I have to use only Nitrogen for the pneumatic conveying.

What will be disadvantages - if i am using compressed air.

With regards,

Siva

Dear Siva,

You have to use an inert gas such as N2 to air convey petroleum coke if it has dissolved hydrocarbons because these hydrocarbons can generate an explosive mixture during conveying . But if this coke is free from dissolved hydrocarbons, it is not necessary to use an inert gas for conveying.
