Manufacturers Of Briquetting Machines-Selection Of Briquette Ma…
Dear Amir Abassi of Pitasco, Turkey;
Briquetting is part of the field of agglomeration of materials-joining together of materials to enlarge the bulk of materials for ease of handling, transport and processing.
According to that definition I have to ask what are the materials, what sizes are they or it at the present and what do you want to do with the materials if they are enlarged in the future?
There are 2 basic types of briquetting, roll briquetting and press briquetting.
Roll briquetting is accomplished when two (2) apposing rolls with pockets are filled with materials and pressed together as the rolls turn. The pressing together is done with one of the rolls in a fixed position and the other roll is pressed by hydraulic forces, compressing the materials as the pockets meet at the tangential point. Commonly, all materials using this process are held together more with a binder, mixed with the materials, then the forces of hydraulic pressure since the only compressing forces come at the tangential point. Depending on the size of materials and if they have varying composites they will make the best compacted briquettes. Care should be made after briquetting to allow time for the binder and the briquette to cure. Tests should be done to ensure the design of handling and transport equipment is taking into account the breakage, fines and dust generation that will meet material specifications
Press briquetting is done by strictly hydraulic forces when materials are compressed by a hydraulic cylinder against an anvil. Depending on the material physical characteristics, the quality of the briquette may or may not require a binder. As well the use of the finished briquette will determine if the binder will contaminate the ensuing process. Press briquetting is mostly used in foods preparation, pharmacuticles and recent development processes of metallurgical materials processing.
A third method of materials agglomeration by some, considered as a briquetting technology since it is similar in mechanical nature, is the extrusion press, whereas material is compressed through a declining cylinder by a rotary screw. Definitely, this process requires a binder as the forces of a screw are not adequate to make a product to withstand further handling. Curing is also required in this product. ■
